Chrysler and Ram Honored in the Family Car Challenge
Every year, the Greater Atlanta Automotive Media Association hosts the Family Car Challenge. This competition, according to the GAAMA president Daryl Killian, is specifically designed to evaluate only vehicles “specific to the needs and desires of today’s families.” This year, Fiat Chrysler vehicles took home more awards than any other brand, with two landing in the top spots for their category.
Chrysler Awards
The Chrysler Pacifica was recognized as the “Best Three-Row Family Car” for the second year running, as well as “Best Green Family Car,” thanks to the incredibly efficient hybrid option — it’s the first minivan in the U.S to offer this green technology. When selected, the hybrid van allows drivers as much as 33 miles of all-electric range and up to 84 (MPGe) Miles Per Gallon equivalent. This efficiency gives Cedar Park families to spend more time doing the things they enjoy and less time and money at the pump.
Interior features that reviewers felt made the Pacifica award-worthy included Stow ‘n Go seating, an integrated vacuum option, in-floor storage, Uconnect Theater rear seat entertainment package, and a wide range of driver-assist safety features that help keep families more secure on the road.
Ram Awards
GAAMA loved the Ram 1500 as well, naming it both the “Best Family Pickup Truck” and the “Overall Best Family Car” for 2018. What reviewers appreciated about the RAM was the capability, size, power, and luxury of the versatile truck. The RAM 1500 offers an impressive 12,750 pounds of towing capability and as much as 2,300 pounds of payload capacity — ideal numbers for families who want to pile into one of the crew cab models, hook up a camp trailer, and hit the road to Round Rock with all their gear. Drivers can also take advantage of the RamBox integrated storage system that allows them to lock away tools and extra equipment and still have easy access to it, even when the truck is loaded.
But utility is just part of the equation. The Ram 1500 also offers some of the same tech features the Pacifica enjoys as well as a 12-inch, in-dash touchscreen infotainment system, satellite radio, driver-assist technology, adaptive cruise control, 360-degree camera system, and much more.
The Ram 1500 and Chrysler Pacifica Offer Award-Winning Power and Utility
